Parents accompany reading

Students must list their family members on their first student visa application. Family members not listed when lodging a student visa application will not be able to obtain a visa at a later stage unless they become a family member after the main applicant (student) has obtained a visa. From July 1, 2017, there will no longer be restrictions on whether family members (including subsequent family members) can accompany the main applicant (student) based on the length of study of certain courses. In general, the proof of financial capability requirements for family members (including dependents coming later) will be the same as those for the main applicant (student). In any case, immigration officers have the right to request proof of funds.

Requirements for family members to accompany you to study

● Kindergarten and grades 1-4 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian;
● For grades 5-8, parents can accompany their parents to study as guardians or immediate family members in Australia (over 21 years old) can act as guardians;
● For grades 9-12, parents can accompany the students as guardians or direct relatives in China can act as guardians or entrust the school to find guardians.

Can accompanying guardians work in Australia?

The guardian is not allowed to work after arriving in Australia. All applicants for a student guardian visa must have sufficient funds to support themselves and their students during their stay in Australia.
